EarBuddies was founded in Wellington, New Zealand in 2008 after Glenn got a bad case of tinnitus from going to too many gigs, and too much motorcycling without using hearing protection. He wasn't going to stop listening to loud music, but needed some way to protect his hearing without muffling sound, or making it hard to talk to people! He couldn't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a set of custom molded earplugs, so after scouring the planet for the best-quality affordable earplugs, and making them easily accessible, EarBuddies was born.

Tinnitus is easily preventable by using hearing protection when exposing yourself to loud noise. If you go out to concerts, festivals, or shows regularly, you are at serious risk of developing tinnitus! We hate to see people using foam earplugs which muffle sound and make it hard to talk to people. It doesn't take much to damage your hearing, as we've found out, and it's irreversible. So we thought we'd help you to avoid the mistakes that we've made and provide you with some good-quality, affordable hearing protection which will let you still enjoy loud music and look after your hearing at the same time.
